In the beginning

Why a blog? There are so many more productive things I should and could be doing yet here I sit, writing a blog.
The real why is how I feel about myself lately. I feel fat. I feel tired. I feel happy except for the tired and fat part. So I've decided to start writing about my relationship with food. I am doing this mainly for me- mainly as a way to put into words the thoughts I have on a daily basis.
This blog is not about weight loss or weight gain. It's more about my own struggles with food and what's led me to associate a number on a scale with personal worth- what's led me to feel defined by an abstract number that flunctuates throughout the day.
I decided this morning to begin this and hopefully I can write a bit on a regular, if not daily, basis.
